Alvin is a design engineer and loves a challenge - nothing seems to defeat him and he loves solving problems and coming up with ingenious solutions. See the blog page for an idea of what I mean!

Liz is a bit more grounded, knows her limitations and is in awe of Alvin's ingeniousness and strength (but despairs  at the number of half-started projects on the go at the same time!) She is nonetheless practical and industrious and particularly loves tending the animals, working in the woodland and cultivating the vegetable patch/polytunnel.

 Being interested in generating hydropower, Alvin had been looking for some land with a stream, river or ponds for several years. Liz's lifetime ambition was to own and manage a woodland. When this site came up for sale 3 years after we had met, and one week before I retired from full-time work...well, we couldn't resist it! 

We have owned this lovely little piece of Worcestershire for 6 years, and although we have worked hard and achieved a lot (it had been neglected by its previous owners) we have many plans and ambitions for the future. We have to be realistic and accept that it'll take a while to realise our dreams, this is a long-term project!
